Black Lives Matter protest. Picture source: social media.
It is two centuries since slavery was abolished in US after a long civil war. It is decades since Martin Luther King was killed because he protested to get equality for Blacks. But life has remained bad for blacks.
The blacks have always expected “Others” to solve their problems, to get them justice and equality, to get fair job opportunity and the likes.
They never realised that “others” have no self interest for their improvement. Others needed blacks to do low end jobs cheaply. If any sympathy was shown, it was to get black votes, to present themselves as enlightened liberal, to get their photos in news media. Their empathy was for show.
If blacks have to become equal to whites then first, they should become intellectually equal to whites. Blacks have surpassed whites in areas where strength and agility of body is involved. They are superior in sports. Most of the medals won by their countries are won by them.
But in areas where brain is involved, they sadly fall far behind, and that’s why in society they have remained backward.
They should go for higher education if they want equality. They should excel in it. They should be seen as top scientists, doctors, lawyers, engineers etc. For this they have to put in long hours studying and excelling.
The results will take time in coming, may be twenty years, but it will come. Proof is Indians in US. Now Indian community is a leader community. They hold top position in government, universities, medicine and corporate world. Nobody helped them but they themselves.
It’s never late to start. Instead of encashing counterfeit twenty dollars bill and putting whole nation on fire, they should develop themselves so twenty dollars become immaterial for them.
And they should give up petty crime. As they said in “Godfather” small crime is for small people.
Bring yourself up and society rises.
